You set goals to fulfill dreams, to move from wishing something would happen to making it happen. The fact that you're here tells me that you want something, that you're ready to make that shift. Going through these goal-setting lessons is the next best thing to having me sit right beside you and walk you through the process. Each of the five lessons holds an essential component and together, those lessons hold the key to an effective goal-setting program. At the end of each lesson are three take-away points. These are the core messages to keep with you. Once you have gone through the components of the goal setting program you will have your template for how to make any goal a reality.


Why Set Goals?

How many times have you thought to yourself, "Man, wouldn't it be great if…" How many thoughts of dreams have traveled through your mind in the past year? Or throughout your life? How many times have you been excited about that dream-thought, but held yourself back? What changes when one of those thought gains a little momentum, when it moves from a dream to something more? What happens that exact moment when your dream takes hold and becomes a goal?


There are five major pitfalls of goal setting that people fall into that can easily derail even the most motivated people from accomplishing their goals. Chances are you didn't fail at accomplishing your goal, but failed at goal-setting. The good news is that when you know what these five major pitfalls are, they can easily be avoided.

Goal Commitment

When you are truly committed to your goal, there is no obstacle big enough to derail you. You are ALL in – 100%, no holding back. You keep pushing forward through your doubts, fears, and all of the naysayers along the way. If you’ve felt stuck on your goal path, it might be time to assess your goal commitment.

Goal Action Plan

You’ve built a strong foundation going through the first three goal setting lessons: now it's time to get to work. This lesson walks you through creating your own Goal Action Plan so you know exactly where you want to go and exactly how you're going to get there. Effective goal setting is comprised of three different types of goals that when combined together will create the foundation of your Goal Action Plan.

Evaluating & Adjusting Goals

Although creating your action plan is a HUGE step in developing a successful goal setting program - it's not the only thing you need to keep you moving forward. You also need to be able to track your progress so you can evaluate how things are going and then make any necessary adjustments to keep you on your path. Sometimes what's on paper might not translate to what's needed in real life. Just like obstacles are normal part of your goal-setting path, so are adjustments.
